Large-scale resin installation
Everything in its Right Place is a large-scale resin installation that merges sculpture with precision engineering. Spike TM produced the custom components that hold the entire structure in shape.
Every clamp was individually 3D modelled and printed at a specific angle to hold a resin ‘lolly’ in exact alignment. With 3,500 pieces suspended into a spherical form, each clamp was numbered, tested and fine-tuned so the geometry held true.
From digital modelling and prototyping through to printing and hands-on testing, the piece shows how custom additive manufacturing can serve contemporary art.
