FDM 3D printing for scale and strength.
FDM printing for installation artists, set-makers and designers working at scale. We build larger pieces in sections and join them so the seams disappear, then finish the surface by hand.
Work shown at Frieze, Studio Voltaire and Nicoletti Contemporary.
When a piece is too large to print in one go, we design it in sections, join them cleanly and finish the surface, so a big form still reads as one considered object. We'll help you choose the right filament for what it needs to do, and plan the whole thing around your deadline.
Built for scale
Large forms made in sections and joined without visible seams.
Strong where it counts
PLA for rigid form, PETG for durability, TPU for flex. We'll help you choose.
Finished, not raw
Sanded, filled and primed wherever a smooth result matters.
An honest plan for size
We'll set out the approach and cost for large work before we start.
Materials
PLA · PETG · TPU (flexible)
Built for scale
When a piece is too big for a single resin print, FDM builds it in sections we join and finish. It is how installation components, set pieces and large sculptural forms get made affordably.
The right filament for the job
PLA for rigid form and easy finishing, PETG for durability and a little flex, TPU for genuinely flexible parts. Material choice follows what the piece has to do, and we advise on it.
Finishing large prints
FDM shows layer lines. Where a smooth result matters, we sand, fill and prime, or combine FDM structure with SLA detail so you get both scale and finish.
FDM is a good fit for installation artists, set-makers, sculptors and product designers making larger or structural pieces.

Good to know
How big can you print with FDM?
Larger than a single print bed: we design pieces in sections and join them cleanly, so overall size is limited by the artwork, not the machine.
Which filament should I choose?
PLA for rigid, easily finished form, PETG for durability and light flex, TPU for flexible parts. We recommend a material once we understand what the piece needs to do.
Can FDM prints be smoothed and painted?
Yes. We sand, fill and prime FDM parts where a smooth finish is needed, or pair FDM structure with SLA detail for the best of both.
